i have a client with extremely porus and damaged hair, she has been blonde for years and decided to go darker, level 7      the first colour she had covered evenl then after one wash was more of less out of her hair then the 2nd colour didnt take in some areas of her hair which is over processed..   her hair is now back to its original blonde.....    

 
any sugguestions to get a brown to stick... i reccomended cat protein by redken after her last visit so hopefully that helps

Hi Kezzie. the main problem is the porous and damaged hair. It's great that you recommend the Redken CAT protein because that's what she needs and she need to KEEP doing it. If you are going more than two levels darker on her, it would be good to fill using a light golden colour. Apply a deposit only on all of her hair without peroxide and let it sit for 10 mins. THEN mix your level 7 colour and apply right directly over that filler. You need to pack that pigment back into her hair until it stays. Once her hair gets back a bit healthier, the colour will stick. Get her to try the Grund Tiger Reconstructor --- it works like a charm on bleached hair (i use it regularly).

i will try this...will i still get a true colour with the one i mix the peroxide with of will it have some gold tones in it from the first colour ill apply??

that's a good question! You should NOT get a golden colour even with the filler (if the hair is as damaged as you think). Although, I wouldn't use too deep of a gold filler. A strand test would be great in this situation, but I know how that goes!
