I've had my hair dyed red since christmas. I loved it at first, but I'm kinda sick of seeing it.. and it's not auburn, or any 'natural' tone of red... its RED. Well, now it's super red because I bought Loreal Color Rays ^.^ But before I was using herbal essences - it's in a bright pink box.. I can't remember that sub-brand of dye.. but the hue was 'Paint The Town'. At first, I had red on top, and bleach blonde on the under half... Then it was all 'Paint The Town'... Then it was 'Paint The Town' on upper half and black on the bottom half... Now it's Loreal Color Rays on the top half and black on the underhalf... So it's been dyed 5-7 times this year - well, since Christmas of last year XD
My hair is still strong, healthy, and it's super thick.. (if you put three strands of my hair together, it's about the thickness of an E string on a guitar)... But I have taken good care of it through the abuse I've put it through (tons of strengthening conditioner!) It feels and looks healthy still, but I'm just sick of it. I need something new, like white-blonde... But I'm not sure if it'd be ok to bleach the living demons out of my hair, then use Manic Panic! Virgin Snow on it to dye it pure white... Any ideas?? I considered just dying it all black, but honestly... there are too many people doing all black.
Follow this link to see a picture of what it kinda-sorta looks like now.. This was back in the 'Paint The Town' days - Which ironicall was only 1 month ago... (but the picture was taken about 2 months ago right after I dyed it :P)
I say go white, it's fun =] I did white for quite a while, it won't kill your hair as long as you take the bleaching process slowly. I could recommend some bleach and toners, if you decide to do it
Okay, so what do you think is the best bleach? I've used Xtreme FX and Herbal Essences Bleach Bum.
Edit: I use a shampoo called White&Bright on my paint horse.. And it gets him super white - and it's purple... So I'm wondering if I could use that for a toner... I've always read that human shampoo is too harsh for a horse's skin - so I don't think it could hurt my hair any.. I know you gotta be careful with it because you can dye the horse a light shade of purple (as well as your skin >.<) soo does anyone think that could work as a toner?
I like red,but not that one u had.I like teh more natural ones.I agree u should just go white. If u did black u would be so sorry u did.Black is the hardest to get rid of.It took me 2 years to get that outta my hair.I hope your hair goes well when u do it white.I know nothing about going really light.I always either darken my hair or go red.Go luck girl! :)
