QuoteReplyTopic: Where can I buy these AWESOME products?!?!?!!?? Posted: July 10 2008 at 12:02am
Ok Ok, Im so fed up with these so called beauty supply stores!!!!
I went to Sally's today and it had the smallest concentration of "black-folks" products I have ever seen. The lady had no idea what she was doing and she actually told me to go to another beauty store around the corner.
Sooooo I went there and I asked the little heffa at the counter "Do you all have any Cantu or Elasta QP hair products???
As if she knew me, she said "Is that like, a hair relaxer or something?" .
Now I'm not one to get upiddy about stuff like that, but once upon a time beauty supply stores and salons use to hire ppl who knew what the hell they were doing! I guess I'm just old school like that (Me and my 21 yrs. of life ).
I really need H.E.L.P.!
Can yall please help a sista out on where to find, either stores or legit websites, that sell Elasta QP Mango Butter and Cantu Shea Butter???????
I really want to try this stuff cuz I am transitioning to naptural and I need to moisturize these nappy roots.
S.O.S. on the 411 on these please! If there are other good brands that yall have tried successfully let me know.

Well for one, I don't trust the hair care or makeup products at the hair store. Why does everyone say Korean?? I never got that.
Anyway.........the reason is because they are priced cheap and alot of times the products are discontinued and old, that's why the "Korean" hair stores sell all of them and so cheap. When you buy old products or discontinued lines, it is cheaper in wholesale for the business owner.
Just a little lesson on business and why things are priced the way they are :).
I think I will buy from the manufacturer directly. That is the last option I guess.
Your fotki is my inspiration, that's why I want to find these products, LOL how crazy is that?? You just happen to answer my post.
I looked under your products section and I want to get a good regimen going when I take out my weave. I bought that African Pride braid spray tht you use. It's goooood stuff!! My hair is in a weave right now and it helps keep it moisturized.
I really want my hair to look as great as yours. I love love love the ANTM pic you took with the cake.
Any other advice??
Hope you don't think I'm a crazy fan or something.......

I go on the web site and type in elasta qp, and or cantu products, also, I dont go much to our beauty supply store here Im fed up with gross old looking african american hair products that are not cleaned and or thrown out by them "chinese" owner and his next of kin workers, I wish we had black owned beauty supply stores, now what is buying up all these ethnic hair products and selling them is the chinese or koreans, they dont even care to maintain the products they bring in, they dont even clean the shelves the products are dirty leaking, smells old, and they dont even toss them out, These foreigners who run this beauty supply store should get fined for not updating there hair products and fined for not keeping the shelves clean and well stocked with fresh hair products!!!Plus i notice they dont even care about the maintenance of there hair products, all they want is make money for having your nails done-they could care less about the products on the shelves, well, this is happening where I live, and this salon sucks!!!

I prefer to buy my hair products online. I can usually find them for less and also get hard to find products. I also am a bit lazy and like to have stuff delivered right to my door step :D
I prefer to buy my hair products online as well. The crap that they sell in beauty supply stores is AWFUL and I prefer to purchase all natural and organic products now as they work better at truly moisturizing natural hair. On a whim I regrettably purchased some IC Fantasia hair gel as well as Taliah Waajid products because a lot of the women who wear their hair "natural" told me that it was a natural product for the hair in did not have harsh chemicals....boy was that a mistake. I purchased the gel from Sally's and applied it on my daughter's hair to do two strand twists. She had rashes ALL over her scalp the next day. It was terrible...she obviously had an allergic reaction from something in the product because when I looked up the ingredients on cosmeticdatabase.com one of the first ingredients had a high hazard level and was a known skin irritant. I don't advise ANYONE to buy from Sally's or beauty supply stores. Go natural ALL the way. The Talliah Waajid products were also a disappointment. I was under the inpression that the products were natural, but one of the first thinngs in the Protein Strengthener was petroleum...I found these products to be of the same ilk as the ones found in beauty supply stores.
I've adopted two Ethiopian little girls with really kinky hair, and I was recommended by an AA woman to use Mineral Indulgence hair care products and they work really well (once again...I was reluctant to buy). I don't know how long you have been transitioning, buy if your hair is mostly napptural you can try their Herbalaxer. It works WONDERS at accentuating curls and making kinky hair manageable (like you can glide a comb through it with ease). I was reluctant because I was told that there was no such thing as a 100% natural relaxer but the Herbalaxer that I got from them is a powdered formula, and once I rinsed it out of my little girl's hair I saw curls, coils galore..lol. If it helps she has 4a-4b hair...and it's REALLY hard to get curls to show up in that type of hair texture. I use to do the "no-poo" method...but I just use the Napturally Sulfate Free shampoo and the Kiwi Coconut Smoothie as well as the extra products they give away in the Herbalaxer kit and my dds hair has never looked better.
I'm a white woman so I don't use the products on my own hair, but I do know how to do locks, cornrows, wash n' gos ect...and these products do make styling natural hair a LOT easier (probably because they are of higher quality)...so I highly recommend them to anyone who doesn't want to have to purchase stuff from beauty supply stores.
hey ya all should try chagrin valley shampoo bars and them body soaps, Ida got many good ones there, I use her stuffs, and its all gooooood!!! check out chagrin valley soaps.
