Hi All,

Well I've went ahead and had lovely super light blonde highlights put all over my head. Now, I am thrilled with the results but since I haven't had blonde hair in awhile I thought I'd ask you experts out there how to keep my hair in good condition.

I would like some sort of deep conditioning treatment as well as a daily shampoo and conditioner. I'd like to occasionally use some sort of purple toning shampoo as well. Where do I start? What do you recommend that will not blow the bank? I'm thinking:

1) A cheap drugstore color safe shampoo and conditioner?
2) A weekly protein treatment
3) A weekly deep conditioning treatment + purple toner

Is this too much? Should I be using a deep conditioner every day? What do you all think? Any specific recommendations?

Thanks!

Hey Perfect! Take a look at the conditioning suggestions I gave Sackpac in a recent thread. There's lots of good ones. I will spend a little more $ on deep conditioners/protein conditioners because I find they really make a difference in the hair. If you're in the drugstore, pick up the Nexxus Emergencee and get a thick, moisturizing deep conditioner as well (Neutrogena Triple Moisture Mask is a good one). Always follow the protein with moisture --- your hair will thank you!LOL

I would suggest you really watch your hair and if you see it rough and breaking then get to doing the protein treatments. If it seems pretty healthy, just dry, then go with deep moisture treatments and the purple shampoo/toner. I wash my blonde twice a week and once a week will apply some form of purple/violet conditioner/shampoo to it. I will often mix the violet conditioner with a plain non-coloured one, so that it is not too intense of colour. HTH!
Love clip-ins and tape!

Hey,

Thanks so much for the advice. I bought the Nexxus Emergencee and am looking forward to trying it. I will check out the Neutrogena moisture mask as well. You are the best!

Hey, do you know what happened to some of the old posters on the forum like Rebecca or Ally? Ally helped inspire me to go blonde so I wanted to thank her.
