QuoteReplyTopic: What color toner? Posted: August 22 2008 at 6:09pm
So just had my hair highlighted yesterday. The stylists used a very light blue bleach with out heat for 15 minutes and then with heat for about 15 minutes. Afterwards she washed my hair with what i assume was a toner but it (the toner ) was a light orange color. Kinda reminded me of orange kool aid so i'm curious what color toner was used ?
Thanks

Could have been just a colour with some gold tone to add a bit of gold to your hi lights, if they are indeed gold in colour. If not then I have no idea what she has done.lol
Ahh, so guess that would explain why they started out a goldenish white color and when i use gel they look yellow. Is there anything I can do that wont change my medium brown hair very much, but will make my highlights whiter and less goldish? Any good products ?

Hi Scott, I have bleached a few male heads in my years as a stylist, and mens hair colour is always harder to lift, I think this is possibly due to men having a thicker hair cuticle.
A good toner to buy is Schwartzkopf silver shampoo, some drug stores do sell this, but you will get it at any sally's beauty store. Don't be alarmed when you see that the shampoo is violet in colour, this is what cancels out an yellow/brassy tones in the hair. Use it until your happy with your colour. After your happy, continue to use once a week.
Karen
PS, this shampoo will not effect your medium brown in any way, Scott.
