Ok, one more time (I think I've got it now).... here's a picture of me. I don't take very good pictures and it's not the best picture to show the length of my hair. My sides are about an inch or two shorter than my back. Right now it measures at 18", my goal is 22"

Hi Becky - I saw it. You are so pretty! I have the same haircut! I have been growin it since last May and my goal is 26". I have not been to a salon in 6 months as I am afraid of what a stylist will do with all of my layers on the sides. I just want it to grow and then deal with it once it is long enough that I have room for cutting. I have no splits yet...time will tell (and summer sun!)

Thank you so much you two for the nice compliments. I really appreciate hearing (or in this case reading) them. I was really nervous about posting a picture of myself and your replies have really helped. I think the picture looks a lot better with my husband in it, but I cut him out b/c I didn't think he'd want his picture posted. It was taken at my church's valentine's dinner, so the clothes pin you see on my collar is for one of the games (which I really hate playing).
Ok you might like this but since you didn't post in the long hair support area I don't fell complelled to be supportive of you growing your hair...sorry
I love your hair! I think it looks great and love the length it appears to be in the picture. The only thing I would change would be to move your part just a little more to the center and add lonnnnnng sexy bang!!!

That's ok Hal, I'm not in any way offended that you don't support my growing process. Just to let you know, there are times that I part my hair in the middle. That's one way that I keep from getting bored.... trying different parts. This picture, if I remember correctly, was an attempt at a zig zag part. I've had bangs several times (you couldn't count on one hand the # of times I've grown them out since high school). I just don't like myself with bangs.

Hey Hal, just wanted to let you know that I took your advice. I saw a picture of Kelly Preston with her new, dark do and LOVED it. I decided to cut long side-swept bangs like hers and it turned out great!! Now if I could just get my length like hers....
