I just found this forum full of long haired beauties! Yay, it seems there is very little advice online for people wanting to style their extra long hair. I am starting to think it's impossible?
My hair is about 3 inches above my waist at its longest layer and I have been going insane trying to style it. I just want some loose curls every now and then, but it's too heavy!!! It falls, almost immediately.
I am at my wits end! I do not want to cut it off, but I am starting to think if I will ever enjoy a different hairstyle other than straight then I will have to chop off a few inches.
My hair is fine, though I have alot of it so it appears to be thick. I am willing to cut into it, just not off of the length. Any suggestions? Products? Tools?? ANYTHING?!?
thanks!

I would try some culers overnight OR if you have time for the hair to dry during the day before going out. That won't damage your hair and will probably stay a little longer too.
I've been watching some vid's on YouTube. Just search for curlers...or curling hair without heat. I'm not sure you can achieve loose curls initially. But I have a feeling after the culers have been out for a little while, the curls will die down and not be super curly. Hope this helps!
My sister has very straight hair and the only thing that makes it curl and hold is rolling it damp and sleeping on it (so it dries overnight). I use sponge rollers on her hair, but there are other options as well. The curls last all day. The next day, she has waves.
Some hair just won't hold curls, mine didn't before I dyed it. You might be disappointed if you cut it just to have it curl, then find it still doesn't hold curl because that's its texture.
Adding: If you curl it damp, like stated above, and also put some product in it like a little gel, that will help it hold the curl. You will have to finger comb it after you take it down so as not to break the gel too much.
