QuoteReplyTopic: Wanting to go darker! Posted: October 13 2008 at 2:57pm
Hi all! I haven't been here in awhile! I have missed this forum a bunch! I have a couple questions...
Currently, I have a very dark blonde/ or light brown hair color. Lately, I feel like people have been saying my hair looks lighter and for some reason it has been driving me nuts! So I decided I want to foil in a couple shades of darker hair color. I want it to look very natural. But I don't want ANY shades of red whatsoever. I'm sooo afraid that my hair will pull an orangy/red/greyish color. Does anyone have any ideas what I should ask for exactly at the salon so that I can acheive a very nice natural look.... but just a little bit darker?
I have literally gone into a salon and said NO RED ...NO RED NO REDDDD hints at all. The end product was... dark brown...with hint of red. It infuriated me! I just want BROWWWWNNN. Please help. Thankkkkkkks
Any advice would be appreciated!

Yeah I think the reason that happens is because they are a using a warm brown instead of an ash brown.Since your hair is so light blond,an ash brown would make it look GREENISH. There really is no way around this...
The only thing I can think of,is to have them do a base of warm/golden brown and then go over it again with a ash brown later.
Wish I could help more but it's just one of those laws of color.

Hi, totally agree with jules, blonde and ash tend to give hair a tinge of green, so that why the stylist is using warm tones to avoid the dreaded green hue.
