When i was around 15 i had blond hair through having highlights. i loved it and felt that it look really natural due to the muti-tones.

i finally died it back dark again to try and regain some health in my hair. now im 22 and decided that it was time to go blonde again. I got a bottled blonde from the supermarket along with a prelightener. I put it on but it turned out more like strawberry blonde / ginger when i took it off. Horrified the next dark i applied some cream bleach / paroxide to try and take out some of the red under tones. But its still not how i would like. I want my hair back to how it was when i 15 :( its more yellow than blond, and the roots are far to bright to look natural and its far to bright for my skin tone so makes me look washes out. it looks like im wearing a wig...and a bad one!!

I dont know what else to do! i dont want to bleach it anymore cos i really dont think my hair could take! someone suggested a toner, but i dont know what shade / colour to get or how to tone down the roots! :S

PLEASE HELP ME :(

so ive read many threads here and have gathered alot of information. I think i need to use something like this in either 6A or 7A?

http://www.capitalhairandbeauty.co.uk/chb.storefront/49003698010395ca27410a022f020538/Product/View/306002

Is this right? Ideally i want to be a more dark/mid blonde without the yellow with darker roots to make it look natural unlike now.

I can't look at my hair any longer! wont someone please help me!!!

Personally I think if you go for a 6 or 7 it will be too dark for you. If you are looking to go with the colour of the middle photo a 9 or 10 ash blonde will even out your colour and the ash will tone down the orangy you have in your hair.

I hope this helps.

Karen.

thank you very much for your response. I have since managed to get in touch with my mums friend whos a hairdresser. She used to do my hair but has since move to oz and i wont trust any other hair dresser hence dyi. anyhoo i used 8v and it worked! I wouldnt say its exactly what i wanted, but it looks good and im happy, maybe next time i might go for a 9 tho. i finally have that new hair glee instead of dread at catching my reflection. But thank you to all the helpful info on this site, as it helped me avoid another disaster when the woman in the shop tried to sell me the wrong item.

I will post a photo for you all later!

Thats great news, that you are happier with your hair. Getting expert help, ie your hairdresser is always your best bet, don't always trust some advice the staff give you these beauty stores as some don't have a clue.

Glad it all worked out for you.

Karen:)
