In December 07, I went to a salon and got my hair bleached. Just the top half, and the bottom half was my normal brown color.

Like this:
Anyway, the bleach was left on a little too long, and the final product was a pale yellow color, so close to WHITE! I flat ironed my hair a lot from then on, because if not, it would've been a big messy BUSH. So I think that's contributed to the damaging of my hair... So about 5 months later, about an inch or more of my roots grew out, and I went to a salon again because I wanted my natural color back. All she did was recolor over my whole head, no color correction! So my hair was dark brown. And then, the color faded within a few days. The roots were fine, but the bleached part started to fade to a GREENish color! I just left it alone, and in September 08, I tried coloring it over myself with a brown color. When I washed my hair that night, my roots were the color I wanted, but again the bleached part showed through and was greener than before.

& now it looks like this!

yeah, It looks REALLY weird, especially in certain lighting!
I really don't know what to do. I went to a hair stylist and she told me to wait til the bleached part grew out, but I can't wait that long! It's that bad. She told me that the bleached part was so porous or dead, that it's not holding the color!
But I've heard of fillers and all of that. Would that work for my hair situation? What color/kind of filler would I use for my hair, and would I just use it on the bleached-that-turned-green part and not my roots, and then just color the whole thing brown?!

confusing and frustrating!

Is there ANY WAY I can color my hair all one color and keep it from turning green or fading!?!?!?

thanks...

I can not believe the amount of time I hear this horror story. I am a stylist, and all stylist if taught properly should know to fill ( pre pigment in the UK) in the blonde before apply a block colour, thats why your hair has turned green and has faded so quickly.  Normally I would suggest you go back to the salon and tell them to fix it free, but they will probably do the same thing.

Use a protein filler all over to help the colour grab better to your hair, plus a red filler on the faded parts only, then use the colour you used before only on the same area, ( get a friend to help you reach all these area's)
develop and your hair should be all the one colour.

You will have to do this for a few colour treatment for the next couple of months to let the colour completely grab onto this area.

I would then give the salon the billTongue

Thanks so much. With the little hope I have left, I'm gonna try this out! So after I put the protein filler on my whole head, and the red filler on the bleached part, do I color my WHOLE head with the color? Or just the bleached part? I really can't remember what color I used the last time that held on my roots. Would I be able to just color the whole thing a different brown?
Sorry so much questions. I'm tired of calling salons and asking, because they don't seem to be much help at all!

If you feel you hair can withstand another colour, then go ahead with a whole head colour, your best bet is to do a strand test first, just to be on the safe side.
