Can I make clip in extenions with handtied Bohyme?

I made my own clip ins by sewing machine sewn wefts together with my sewing machine, but does anyone have any experience or tips to making clip ins with hand tied wefts?  I'm not sure if thats even possible since there doesnt seem to be a border to sew on.  Would I just hand tie my wefts together instead of sewing them? (Any links that show an example?)
I have a package of hand tied Bohyme already - that is why I am asking, or I would just get the machine wefted because it was very easy to do.

I sew my hand tied weft together all the time.  I zig zag stitch them onto seam binding.
