my sister rolled my hair for a wedding. my hair turned out really cute. I loved the curl, but I'm not a huge fan of how my ends feel now. I got an inch cut of on Friday and with how my ends feel now, I'm considering another inch
anyway, I thought I'd share a pic with y'all to show off my curls

thank you. I still have a lot of volume and body in my hair from Saturday. I'm trying to not wash until Thanksgiving, but I don't know if I can last. my hair is getting very tangled.
on a sidenote, the other day I bought some wide cloth headbands, I'm wearing one now. I hope wearing headbands will help me not wash my hair as much and not wear hats everyday

How cute are you?!? I've wondered why women get their hair done a certain wonderful way for a wedding and then never seem to wear it that way again. Easy on the hair trimming, though. You've got a good thing going there.
thanks Kramer. I am going to get my hair trimmed again today. I was looking at my ends last night and my hair is gross. I have to stop coating my hair with conditioners and leave-ins hoping the split ends will just go away if I can't see them
I know I need a good cut when my own hair is grossing me out and I'm not paying attention in class at all because I am so distracted by my split ends and pulling on them. that is what gets me into trouble with the splits and damage is pulling on them instead of cutting them off. if I did a good session of search and destroy I wouldn't leave my house for about four days

The curl pic was great. I hope your search and destory mission if you do under take it works well for you. Your hair looks great and not that damage but then again you are the only one that knows how your hair looks. Good luck.

I haven't been doing much with my hair. I wash it possibly 3 times a week. with it being so cold in MI I have been wearing a lot of ski caps and braids, I still air dry my hair - staying away from heat as much as possible
I was talking to my sister about my hair the other day, to save money for both of us, we are going to start cutting each others hair. hopefully my sister can master dusting my ends (I trust her to trim my ends). I am nervous that my sister wants me to cut three inches off her hair. we'll see what happens. I have a blog, when we cut I'll blog it, hopefully with pictures
I have been curious as to why my ends are so damaged. I started air drying my hair 6 years ago. in that six years I have used heat on my hair maybe 20 times (that's being generous), I don't wash every day and I get a trim 2-4 times a year. I got to thinking about when my sister-in-law would color my hair and how she would only use box color on my hair. is it possible all the damage is from the box color? that's the only connection I can make to why my hair is so damaged my sister has taken over coloring my hair, we are using Ion hair color, my hair feels better, but I still have some damage
how long is it going to take for me to get my hair back to super healthy? I have worked on my diet. I'm eating more salads, veggies and fruits. I'm working out more. so far I have lost 10 pounds since Christmas. that's a bonus!

The problem I'm having with my hair right now, is the ends are in good shape, no splits. But, I have white dots throughout my hair. I read this could be dust, build up, or the start of splits.
I don't use heat either. But, the last time I went to the salon, to get a trim, she used a Flat Iron on my hair. I'm thinking thats where my damage came from.
My hair is color treated too. I decided to quit dyeing my hair. I'm excited to see what my natural hair will look like. I'm sure it will be alot healthier too!
I bought a good pair of shears and a hair cutting tool called the CreaClip. So far, I've trimmed my own bangs. It did a great job and is very easy to use. I'm going to get my DH to trim my back. You can buy it at www.CreaClip.com or www.HSN.com HSN is $10 cheaper, but they sell out every time, and it might not be available.
Dry ends could be from dyed hair, any chemicals aren't great. I'm having trouble with mine in that arena since I started dyeing it, but, oh well. One good thing about dye from a beauty shop as opposed to boxed color is that you can control the amount of peroxide in the developer. I'm not sure what they put in boxed dye, if they use 20 or 10 typically...probably depends on the shade.
