QuoteReplyTopic: blonde hair color help please Posted: January 09 2009 at 1:40pm
I would like my hair to be the same colors as Marla Maples', in this photo http://fileena.com/fans/fans_marla_maples.jpg (and I think the same here http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2f/Marla_Maples_LF_crop.jpg). I'd be really grateful if someone could tell me:
1 - how and what colors I'd need to put in my own hair (it's currently honey blonde using Koleston Perfect 12/03 blonde all over, and I'm naturally mid brown) 2 - what colors extensions I'd need (I find it really hard to tell using the color charts online, as the colors vary depending on how the photo was taken/my screen)
Thank you very much!

Ok..Level 12/03 all over? and you want to bring your base back to a seven with a fair amount of highlights? It would all depend on the condition of your hair. Is it fairly healthy? If so, Highlights with Wella blondor, lowlights colortouch 6/0(finely weaved), put wella colortouch 7/03 in between foils. Process all at once. Shampoo, performance plus for 5 min. Tone with 9/73,9/03,9/3 + 1.9% equal parts for 10 min under dryer. Walla!!! Sincerely,Zahava
Thanks for such a helpful reply. I have two questions: the truth is, my hair is fine and quite dry so breaks really easy when I use bleach (which blondor is?) - do you have an alternative suggestion for highlights? Secondly, can I ask what the toners are? - do you buy them in separate tubes or...? And the 1.9%? I'm sorry I don't know much about this, but want to be informed when I ask my mobile hairdresser to help me :D L

Ok, yes Blondor is bleach but you can use very weak developer with it. Listed are the different volumes- 6 vol, 13 vol, 20 vol, 30 vol, 40 vol. I would use the 13vol( 4.0%) with Blondor to do your highlights. This is much more gentle on the hair. Use Toners (Semi or Demi color) to tone back( darken and even out ) the highlight to get that beautiful blonde otherwise it will look like white or yellow bleached hair.
The only alternative to bleach would be a highlift color level 10-12, but it's very hard to get an enough looking highlight! Normally it will show a line from previous color when overlaped, even just a little bit.
Hope that helps!
