I agree with you the short hair is better.  Also, it could be brwon or blonde, but her look is better with shorter hair.

I like the bob, but it's not right for her role in "Friday Night Lights"

She is supposed to be playing an 18 y.o. girl in rural Texas.  I think the longer hair works better for the role.
