type of hair extensions

i've enjoyed finding this site so much. it's nice to be able to talk to other women about hair color mistakes and such. i still have some questons about hair extensions, as i will be getting some for the first time in a couple of weeks. i made another trip to sally (i live in a small town and that's all we have) and they carry the satin strands. the mgr. told me she thought they were pretty good but had no experience herself with them. there were 3 different colors,( i think). Is malibu, south beach, and st. tropez colors? and do these extensions tangle and bunch up? i will be getting them about collarbone length, prolly no longer than that and layered all over is what i had in mind. any input on this? thanks for everyone who has answered my questions.
