Well, long hair news is slow, but recently I was talking to a terrific friend of mine who told me that she had never met a guy so prejudiced as I for long hair on women. This jogged my memory.
Back in the early 90's I worked with a man Vince who was grumbling one day about how upset he was about his wife's new short haircut. Something about how the woman in the family should have long hair. "Well, someone's going to have long hair!" I remember him murmuring.
I thought little of the conversation at the time, but as the months and years passed, Vince's hair proceeded to get longer and longer. Some guys just should not wear their hair long, and Vince was one. He could have won a "seedy hair" contest in a walk. One day I mentioned the long hair and he replied that well, his wife's hair was short. That was all.
One day after more than two years he finally got his hair cut. I didn't have the courage at that time to ask him whether his wife's hair was growing. I didn't want to touch that raw nerve.
Anyway, after I relayed that tale to my friend, I added, "Now THAT guy was bad! There's always someone worse off than you, I guess."
Any other crazy stories out there?  LOL Bob

Our fish tank pump stop working the other day. I found it on the counter by the sink, "M" had taken it out of the tank and had been fooling with it. His story goes:" I was hearing this weird noise and pin pointed it to the fish tank, looked around and suddenly the motor on the pump had stopped, i unplugged it, took it apart, re assembled it, nothing is working. I think the pump burned up".   I then started fooling with it, tugging and prying and finally this bottem piece came off. it was a little spinning propllor type thing not really dirty but had some build up at the top.. I go to remove the build up and it's really hard to get off. I got a knife and started cutting...It was hair!!!! alot of hair some how got tangled around the inside of the  pump and stopped it from working.. i couldn't belive it. i heard of hair clogging up vacume cleaners but not fish tanks!
lol  it began to work and "m" looked at me like i had a 3rd eye after i told him what i found.. we now keep the cover over top the tank so it dosn't happen again .

Hey Bob, I'm not being disagreeable, but I'm just curious about your opinion on which guys should not wear their hair long?

Smile Great to see you return here, Dave. I appreciate the sensitivity on this issue, since lamentably, salon floors are littered with the regrets of those who wrongly believe that their hair doesn't "measure up" to some standard of perfection when long.
I'll be frank here. IMO,there exists very few women, probably less than 1% of those under 60, who can't grow attractive hair at least to their shoulders. I never seem to see those women who look "bad" in long hair. Now, I see plenty who wear their long hair badly, but that's their choice. Achieving alluring hair does require TLC.
Now among guys, I see those who just look right with long or longish hair; it looks like a natural fit. I work with several. But I think that there are men, many of them with great heads of hair, who don't look right. I'd never begrudge anyone his pleasure, and honestly, I don't much think about what any man does with his hair. There is never an attraction for me.
Obviously, there are those like me with hair so scant on top that long hair would look silly. (To me, anyway!) My friend was not in my category. He had enough on top, but the texture was like straw. It was blonde, and it looked like a dying hayfield at summer's twilight. It was, as I said, a protest grow-out by a headstrong man unhappy with his wife's decision to go short. It took him over two years to "get over it", if he ever did. Confused Blessings, Bob
