darkening my bleach blond hair

   Hi, I wrote a couple of weeks ago about letting my friend bleach my
hair. It was a disaster but she fixed it and it is all now a dark
blonde. It looks nice and everyone has complemented me but I just did
my roots and i don't want to do be having to call her every 3 or 4
weeks since my hair grows fast. I want to color it a light brown or a
light golden brown. Is this possible? My friend says to use a golden
beige blonde for maybe 10 minutes since my hair is porous. Is this
correct I don't want green hair. Thank you.
