I have a customer coming for new color tint.  But I could not take her old BLACK dying color out that she got from another place in the previous time.  Could you please advise me how to take the BLACK color out completely before apply new color ? or what the product to be used in this specific case.

I could take whatever color out for new one, except the BLACK tinted from another place because I did not know the name/kind of product they used to apply on her hair before.

Really appreciate your input !

I'm not a pro so I imagine you know more than me.  If I were in your shoes I'd try the arsenal, not knowing what kind of dye it was: metallex shampoo,  colorfix, clarifying shampoo, baking soda/shampoo mix.  If none of that worked to fade it at all, I guess it'd need bleach, (but I've never bleached black dye so you'd know better than me if that was a good option.)

I agree with Susan, trying a colour remover first, or maybe 1 or 2 bleach shampoos. Black is a tricky colour to remove, especially if its colour build up.

Good luck.

If I use the common color remover or bleach for BLACK dye, it will work but also damage customer hair partly.  So I am looking for specific brand/ name of product to use to treat this case safely.
Please advise, masters !

I'm not a licensed colorist or hairdresser, but for me, in the past, when I dyed my hair black on top of various colors, I always turn to ol' faithful, Color Fix, to remove the black tint. I have used either permanent or semi-permanent black tints in the past and always had successfully removed them using Color Fix to go brown or blonde. It took me either two or three uses of Color Fix to remove the black tint before revealing the orangey hair. Yes, my hair wasn't severely damaged, but with good conditioners and moisturizers plus trims, my hair feels okay. Again, others may have better products or tips than I do.

No matter what you use you are going to cause some damage to your clients hair. I do not use the colour removers as I don't really like them, others swear by them including colour fix as Beachgerl has mentioned also a few people rave about colour oops.

I always use 1 or 2 bleach shampoo's with 20 vol only.

This is only my opinion, so don't all shout at me, lol

Its  a mixture of bleach powder, peroxide, shampoo and water. Sally's wont sell it as its a mixture you make up yourself.

Bleach powder
30 ml of 20 vol peroxide
30 ml warm water
15 ml shampoo

Mix all together in a non metallic bowl, wet the hair first, then emulsify the mixture through the colour your wanting out of the hair (best to do this at the back wash) do this vigorously until you see the colour lifting out the hair.  time wise for about 5 Min's. You may need to do this a second time. Condition the hair well after.
