Is there anyway to cut a fall/half wig base/cap that I could use it like a one piece hair extension? I found some at a wig store, but I couldn't figure out where to cut it and then sew the clips on. The reason I wanted to try this is that it was layered and I thought it I could put it lower on my head and it not look so fake. I need to wear the extensions low because my hair is so thin, that when I clip them in layers individually the clips tend to pop out on the upper levels of my head. Thanks so much. Also can you buy the half wig caps and then maybe I could sew the hair on myself?

Well if you want to cut them, if you look inside the cap you can see where the wefts are and how they are laid. I have the same issue you have, though when I wear my clip-ins (which are double wefted and 3 tracks per clip). I tend to leave out alot of hair from the middle of my head but then place the clips near the top of my head (if that makes sense).

I think I see what you're trying to do, like cut the top part of, get rid of the curve of the cap so the tracks would lay flat against your head and then sew clips at the sides as you would when making your own clip-ins.

I don't know if there are half wig caps, but there are wig caps, where you could sew on the hair onto it and if you don't want the top part of the cap, you could carefully cut it off and sew the cap so it won't further unravel.

ok thanks. I will try that. I dont fully understand what you mean about leaving hair out at the middle and places clips near the top. Could you explain more? Thanks again

I part my hair from like the middle of my head so I'd have a big section of hair (with my thin hair, it isn't all that much hair), then I flip it to the front and have it hang over my face.  While my hair is still parted, over my face, I place my clip-ins (which go from ear-to-ear) and clip them in near the front of my head, usually the clips are near my ears.

Once they are clipped in, then I flip back the hair I parted/left out and it covers up the tracks and clips. I usually have to use a few bobby pins to keep my leave out hair in place.

So its like your hair, clip-in hair, your hair on top.  Don't know if this cleared it up for you, I came up with this on a trial and error, just playing around with them.

I'd take pics and try to do a visual, but my hair is all braided up since I'm currently rocking wigs.

If you want synthetic hair, Freetress makes a Moon Cap

If you look at this LINK, and see how the models hair is parted, that's what I tried to describe previously LOL, but I don't do the braid. That's also how the Moon Caps are put on.

To me the Moon Caps look like a cut up half wig with clips or a bunch of clip-ins in the form of a cap.
