QuoteReplyTopic: Help, Need lace front glue that won't eat my skin! Posted: March 29 2009 at 5:52pm
Hello All,
I have been wearing a lace front for almost a year. About 4 months using endura bond something started to happen. I went to the doctors and they said i had 2nd degree chemical burns. I had hives and a visable ring from where i wore my wig all around my head. Did i learn, of course not so i tried tape and endurabond, where i put the endurabond same thing happend and where i put tape nothing! I have been trying different ways and i have given up. my skin burns with open burn cuts, i am praying my hair will grow back....
Does anyone know any good products that do not damage skin that will hold for a week or longer? It would be a plus if it could be water proof so i could swim :)
Thaks for your help in advance!
Brown by honor proud by choice!

I have never heard anything good about endurabond. Davlyn (Green) works best for me along with Tru Blue tape. I use 2-3 layers of DG on my skin and the tape on the lace. I get a 10 day to 2 week hold.
lupita, girl im sorry this is happening to you, i definately feel for you, but you must give your hairline a rest before applying any more adhesives, all adhesives say not to apply to abraded skin, as for skin safe adhesives, be advised that they a likely to have a diminished hold...ORWG, spirit gum, and invisabond, and perfector plus, one should work for you along with a skinsafe tape...i.e. 1377 (3m) or I think duo tek. always remember that they might hold well or might not depending on your bodies chemistry. also remember in removing there are solvents that will irritate your skin as well, and there are skin safe solvents like pure, check the warnings and ingredient there as well. please allow your hairline to heal. there are some nice human hair reg. wigs that you can sport while your hairline heals. good luck.
Wow sorry that happened to you. I have sensitive skin to and was breaking out using Ultra Hold but I started a new app the other night with Davlyn Green and Supertape and no irritation so far. I am Irish and I think we have the worst skin personally as we burn so easy and I cant use products that contain Sulfa(anything) in them as it irritates and I break out like crazy.
As lace mistress said though...what works for one could not work for you. It is literally an experiment until you find the right one. Let your hairline heal before you apply anything else to it.
