Hi, my hair had faded to a light strawberry blonde, so I wanted it a darker red. Guess my ends & tips of hair all over my head are just worn out , I used from Sally's first, for 15 minutes a protein color filler in shade red, then ION color brilliance permanent creme in shade dark red blond. Looks beautiful at top and underneath, but my my tips and ends,up to at least 1 inch ALL OVER MY HEAD came out a much brighter pink/red. Please help, I do NOT know what to do. I will try to take a pic and post later, but for now, does anyone have any advice for me? I cannot stand my hair, and sadly cannot stay in my house and hide, lol. PLEASE let me know, email leslieann3@blackberry.net or on here.

If your hair is not really short then try going to a salon and have the unwanted color trimmed off or go back to Sally's and show them your hair and maybe they can tell you how to fix it. I think most Sally's have at least one cosmetologist working there.

Your ends are just so porous that the colour will not grab onto. Time for a little trim.

if you don't like the length of your hair, ie: too short, you could apply a mild temporary color on the ends.  you will have to have them removed at some point but you could do it slower.

Thank you for alll your responses. I decided the ends had to go and got short layers, and a shorter haircut. I am much happier!
