This is me after dyeing my hair a bit darker than it naturally is already. My hair is naturally a lighter blonde.

I agree ! Your current color & self blow those two right out of the water hehe...Seriously The only amount of darker I would consider would be like http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/rec6KctvkkF/2008+American+Music+Awards+Arrivals/C6YXvNjQFE3/Taylor+Swift   but her cooler ends & "grown out" roots are very well blended.  Since you have smooth straight hair your look & color  are complementary...
