    Posted: September 08 2009 at 5:06pm

I had my hair highlighted 4 years ago by a salon and they over did the bleach and processing time so I turned into a platinum blonde from a dishwater blonde, hair breakage occured, I cried and they denied it was their fault.

I decided to trim my own hair condition and never go to a salon again, well 4 years later my hair is down to my bra line healthy and wavy. I studpidly went to a salon 1week ago to have some high and low lights put into make the color prettier. (Big mistake #2)

The salon is reputable and the colorist highlyl recommended, the low lights about a level 8 turned violet!! She was stunned and did not know what to do nor did her co-workers. I was shocked and horrified when I looked at my beautiful hair ruined.  She then proceeded to scrub, I mean scrub hard with clarifying shampoo twice still violet/ash. Then she decided to refoil the hair with high lift color Perfecta 900 still some violet and pink strips left.  The next day after I washed my hair 4x's during the night she refoiled my hair with high and low lights and it looked like mud the low lights bled into the high and just mismashed to together. Looked terrible still but at least the violet was gone.  The next day she put just the 900 highlights over the mud and it looks somewhat acceptable but not as nice as before I came into the salon.

My current problem is the aftermath of all that coloring my waves are straight won't hold curl, theres breakage and I have spent $150 on "the best"hair masks and crap and spend everyday trying to save my hair.  It is so porous, dry, frizzy and limp, I am stumped.  Should I put a clear coat glaze on it? What can I do to my poor ruffled cuticle I put moroccan hair oil and bought a better hair dryer thats supposedly professional and won't frizz ones hair as much and I use the cool setting and the disfuser it came with. The professional that did it states she can't do anymore for me and she's sorry.  Her hair is down to her butt, I bet she would be upset if it were done to her beautiful locks. Does frizzy hair heal?  what can I do to smooth it out?  I also have the Shades EQ clear coat, would that help?  Any one out there with information I would really appreciate it now.
Thank you!

Cry Yes I'm crying again 7th day in a row.
How can normal hair turn violet by just asking for a few low and high to compliment my (past tense) lovely dark blonde hair.  I actually paid, should I ask for my money back?  I have spent hundreds of dollars in a week on new supposedly great products for ruined hair.  Maybe ther is no solution. Maybe I am hopeless.
I washed my hair the day before with normal shampoo and conditioner and didn't wash it the next am because I thought if would be healthier.

What do I do???

HeartAm sorry for your painful experience.  What products did they use on your hair? The Bleach & Color? I am suprised they didn't use a strand test etc!

Perfecta 8.3 and 900 series for the highlights, she had to color my hair x4 to get the violet out.  I was told by a perfecta professional that what she did was when she tried to darken the low lights by adding color she used a violet base and it went black/violet when it was put on the blonde strands of my hair and then foolishly tried to use very hot h2o and clarifying shampoos to strip the unwanted tones out.  She scrubbed abused and ruined my wavy healthy hair and states she has not idea how it happened.
