I was looking at all the pretty pics of everyones long hair and it make me so envious and sad. I've been a member for over a year now and my hair hasn't grown six inches at all! I want so much for it to be long. *frowns* Congrats to everyone who has long beautiful hair.

Amber, although it's hard, try not to compare yourself with others. Think about how much your own hair has grown in the last year! Think about how healthy your hair is. Think about the different ways you can style it for various looks. Although super long hair is lovely, it really isn't the end-all for luxurious, vibrant hair!

There's one thing that people with ultra long hair cannot do that we with "short" long hair can -- shake our heads wildly without making an absolute tangled web of our hair! Personally, I love to dance and shake my hair, and it would be difficult to do that with hair to the knees.

You'll get there, Amber! I've been growing my hair out for years now, and it's still only mid-back. It takes so much time!

How long is your hair now?

Almost 3 years and I barely pass niple-to-mid-back point, but not with everyone. It will take me some good time before I have something uber-stunning.

Hi AmberJune

Long hair takes a long time to achieve.

You will get there eventually and when you do, your hair will have absorbed more of your life experiences and contain more memories.

Isn't that a key aspect of the specialness of long hair? That it represents the patience, dedication and determination of it's owner?

Enjoy the journey, knowing that the final length is both inevitable and indeterminable.

Take care
Uzi

Hi, Amber

I have to admit I know where you're coming from. I'm growing my hair out from a super-short look and I'm kinda impatient too. What helps a bit is to imagine what it'll be like when you reach your goal. But keep 'time'-related thoughts out. Don't think of how long it'll take to reach your goal. Just think of the goal itself. If you can think like that, you'll feel much better. And also, be thankful for the length you do have already. Hope this helps a wee bit. Good luck!
