Want to Remove Dry Curls From Hair To Be Natural

I had natural hair over the summer, and this hairdresser talked me into getting dry curls. It's pretty, but my hair lost its volume, so I want to go back to natural, but I do not want to have to cut my hair off. Can I just stop doing the dry curls, and grow my hair out gradually or will this cause super breakage?

Hi,
You can stop doing the dry curls, and grow your hair out gradually. But you will have to moisturize and condition regularly to prevent your hair from breakage. You can do that, it will work.

I have never heard of dry curls.  Is it a chemical process?  If so, it might just be better to cut if off.
