Is it a good idea to use semi or demi permenant hair color over previously permenantly color hair?
I'm going back to my natural color and although the darker color matches my natural color better it's a little too red and not dark enough.
I was thinking that I could use semi or demi permenant color until my natural color is all grown out. I don't want to cut it a lot or use permenant dye to try to match the color.
Hi Portgirl...Semi-Perm is your best bet. way less damage...and anyway if you keep using permanent color on your hair you'll never get you virgin hair grown out.
It's definitely a way to go. I did that earlier this year, and it worked out really nicely. People just thought it was my original hair color. I used Clairol Natural Instincts.

I just used Natural Instincts today (Sahara) for a touch up (10 minutes on my roots and 10 minutes on the rest of my hair) and it turned out so well, I was amazed. My hair is naturally dark blonde but a lighter golden blonde (permanent hair color) on everything except my roots, so I wasn't expecting much of a change, but my hair turned out so shiny, full of body and bounce, no hair breakage and actually healthier looking than before.
I would most definitely recommend Natural Instincts!
