Hi
I keep hearing that heat methods of hair straightening cause damage.
A. What EXACTLY are you these damages? split ends ? dryer hair ? thinning of the hair ?
B. Are these damages reversible by stopping the heat method hair straightening? will the hair naturally go back to what it was before on it's on?
C. If I shave my head, will the new grown hair suffer from the damage?
A. The damage from heat is dryer hair and split ends. It will not cause thinning of the hair at the root, only at the ends where splits may make some of the hair break off (if you don't cut them off in a timely fashion).
B. This damage is not reversible. Once hair is damaged you can try to keep it looking good by masking the damage with hair products, but the damage will still be there.
C. You will really be able to harm the hair's root by using a straightening iron, the iron doesn't get near enough to it. If you shave your head, your new hair will grow in healthy.

it says here straightening iron CAN cause thinning of the hair:
Straightening irons on wikipedia.
I guess it's only for those who spend 30 minutes each day with the iron?
