I'e recently noticed (this is within the last 6 months or so) that my fine, thin hair has become thicker. I can use hair accessories for thicker hair that would never work before. The shampoos/conditioners for fine/thin hair leave my hair dry and fuzzy instead of the way they used to, with more volume.

I've been using hair products for normal or color treated hair and these seem to work best. I also use bobby pins on my growing bangs as it's wet, and there is not a problem with them staying in place.

I also used to never have to worry about putting my hair up when working out, now I have to put a low poneytail in my hair to keep in out of my face or I couldn't see.

I guess the reason I'm writing this is because I'm curious as to whether an individual's hair can change. My hair will always be fine, but perhaps the volume can increase. I've been doing some different things such as taking the Hair Topia Vitamins, Herbal Supplement, Amino's, the 'good fats', MSM (and quite a bit of other herbals and minerals), as well as not blow drying or curling my hair every day. I also don't use hair spray on my hair every day, whereas before I would.

I've changed the hair color I use to Open by Loreal, and absolutely LOVE the results I've gotten. I'm actually amazed. And not once in the 6 months have I touched my hair with scissors. I've had virtually no hair fallout, and have taken the suggestion of a poster here and use Natural Instincts 4-6 weeks after my initial permanent coloring to extend the life of the color without damaging the hair. It's worked really well.

You all have been instrumental in regard to helping me, and I want to thank you. It's not as if I'll ever have thick hair, but I do have much more hair that is much healthier than before. And it's grown to my bra strap, and my bangs are to my chin, almost past it. I've never had these results before, and I've JUST started being more gentle in regard to the hairdrying, curling, spraying, etc.

Just curious as if there is anyone else with similar experiences? (sorry this is so long! but I wanted to make sure that all of the information was included)

Kris :)

Absolutely, it happens. When I was younger up until about 5 I had extremely thin, fine hair. Out of nowhere my hair got very thick and wavy...it continued to do so, and got extremely unmanageable. Only up until about 4 years ago (i'm 17) did it ever get to a point where I could actually style my hair and it look good. My hair seems to now be getting thinner---it's still thick, just not puffy thick. I haven't changed my routine at all, so I contribute this to just a change in hair. My stylist told me once that your hair will change about every 7 years, but i'm not sure if that's fact or fiction.
