My hair has been short and I've liked it, it has been short and I've not liked it. (my definition of short = partial ears showing w/ layers or chin length bob). My hair has been medium/long and I liked it and it has been medium/long (my definition of medium/long = past shoulders yet not quite to bsl) and I didn't like it.

When I'm feeling confident I feel like I look good in either short or med/long. Not such a good day, nothing can help.

I would just for once like to decide if I want short or med/long hair and go with it and be content. When it's short, I want to let it get some length, when it's med/long, I want to cut it.

Ok, thanks, I needed to get that off my chest. All better now.

Twanda - I feel the SAME way most of the time too....right now I am growing it out and everyone seems to think it looks better long on me.
I have figured out that I have a 2 year "hair clock". I cut really short (as you described) love it for a few months, then dislike and vow to grow my hair to my but. Then I grow for 1 1/2 years, become tired of the heavy hair in a pony 90% of the time and go cut it off again. I am at the 2 year mark now and my hair was so short (1 1/2 years ago)it hasn't even reached bsl yet. I think that whatever dissatisfaction you have (and me too) may come from something else and hair is just the most radical way of expressing feelings of boredom we may be having with ourselves. I suggest you try to take an analytical approach to the whole thing. Which way looks best on you? Then go with that look. After that, place all of your need for change into something else, your makeup, wardrobe, home, etc.

hope this helps...I trying this too!

Yes, you're right about that, I absolutely take everything out on my hair. Realistically speaking, my straight, fine hair looks best at or above the shoulders.
