change hair color without dye?

hi im a guy, and im trying to change my hair color, not much, just slightly.
i have a very dirty blonde/brown hair color, and id like it to be a little bit darker brown. sometimes my hair seems to have this wierd yellow/orangeish look to it. im guessing its highlights from getting sun bleached, but rather than getting just more blonde which id be fine with, it gets orangish yellow. the only time it looks good is im extremely tan, even if im just pretty tan it looks strange. so basically i just want to darken my hair color slightly and get rid of the wierd orangish color.

i dont want to have to deal with dyeing my hair, im a guy and i just dont think i could do it. but is there any other way to do it? shampoo's? ive heard of hair and nail vitamins you can take, would having healthier hair help with color?
