Ok starting over here...maybe someone can clean up that mess I made (sorry). I couldn't figure out how to post the pic. And couldn't remember what my username and password was...I registered on this site about a year or more ago.
OK...
I've been trying for literally over a YEAR to find the right hairstyle for me! LOL Try as I may, I can't figure out what my face shape is! I thought I was oblong, yet my face is wide. I need style that will make my face appear more narrow, yet it is long, so I don't want it to look longer! Umm...here is a pic of me that I've been using to try on different hairstyles with those little computer programs and such. I know its not fancy; don't laugh at sleep-deprived mommy's dark circles plz ;) Someone...PLEASE tell me what shape I am!
I hope that works. Right now, my hair is long (almost to bra strap), and blonde (as opposed to the natural brunette you see here). I like the lighter color on me, but I'm thinking of going a bit darker than I have now...more of a light ash brown or something similar. My main focus is the style though. And, first off, I need to figure out once and for all what face shape I have.
Thank you! Rushell K SAHM in TX

I'm definitely not an expert, but to me your face shape looks rectangular. It also has a bit of an oval shape, but I would tend to go more towards rectangular.
Life is wonderful...when you have a cat. But even better when you have a cat and good hair!
Of the four basic face shapes, I think yours is square (tending to rectangular). Here is a web site that describes the shapes and the best hairstyles for each one:
Thanks for starting this thread (and the links!). I've never been able to figure out my face shape, but I think it's heart shaped. I don't really want to cut my hair, I would rather have it one length.
Hi Rushell - I have 4 kids under the age of 8. The youngest is 2 yrs old. I hope I can save you a lot of pain by telling you that a shorter hair style may be even harder to deal with when you have little ones. I cut may hair after 2 of the pregnancies and then regretted it because (a) I was still carrying some pounds from the pg and my face looked rounder (I have a squarish, roundish face just like you!) and (B) I would have to take the time to style it, but the style would not last because what does last when you have alittle one grabbing at your hair all of the time!
I am currently wearing my hair in a long, Courtney Cox kind of style (layers that start at chin length) and it is perfect for my face shape. I can wear it up during the day but style it cute for the week-ends and such.
