I bought some murray's pomade, as it was recommended for a certain hair style I was going to try. Well, the problem is, I can't get it out. It says on their site that it is intended to stay in (which it doesn't say on the can). I've tried liquid dishwashing detergent and I'm about to try baby powder and coca-cola. This sucks. My hair is about 8 inches long which makes this hell. I should have bought the 'super light' type, but there was no way I could know this kind was going to be like trying to wash melted candle wax out of you hair.
If anyone has any tips please help me. I don't want to have to shave my head.

Well, their website does list some methods of removal, but none of them worked very well for me. Their products are not intended to be removed...it's supposed to stay in the hair. I didn't know that. (they basically list some methods of removal and wish you luck).
I used some of the methods listed on this site for trying to remove vasaline from hair (corn starch etc.), but none of them worked completely. Mainly because this pomade stuff is super thick. I also left the dishwashing liquid in for a long time, but it didn't make a huge difference. I've stopped using the dishwashing soap out of fear I'm going to fry my hair. But 2 days later or so I can actually say it's coming out. Gradually, but it is coming out.
The crappy thing is, I'm growing my hair out right now, and the last thing I need to do is damage the crap out of my hair, which I hava a feeling I am.
