QuoteReplyTopic: No clue what's up with my hair? Posted: February 12 2004 at 8:24pm
Ok this is going to be somewhat hard to describe but i'm so embaressed by it and I don't really have any female friends to ask so i'm trying this message board. Ok, first my stats. I'm 21, with straight long brown hair, i did all over highlighting to it (which turned it light brown) over a year ago and it's still having fun growing itself out.
Ok but here is my problem... about 2-3 years ago, a new line of hair started forming below my normal line of hair on my forehead, it looked horrible so i kept plucking/shaving it, and still am. The only problem is, this looks bad when i pull my hair back, and it appears as though my hair line is too high up compared to the sides. Not to mention it grows back quite quickly and this takes up so much time and is painful.
My husband told me to just let it grow, but the problem is, i let it sit there for a good year when it started appearing..and it didn't grow any further than about half an inch, And that just looked HORRIBLE! So that is why i started plucking it. I wear my hair straight and parted on the side, i've never had bangs. What in the world should I do? I feel like an absolute idiot plucking my forehead like this... I posted some pics so you can get an idea of what i am talking about, http://members.aol.com/ladyayukawa/oldsamfeb.jpg That is what it keeps doing... http://members.aol.com/ladyayukawa/samalone.jpg That is what it looks like when i pluck it, although if you are up close you can tell i'm plucking it of course and that's really bothering me.
I don't know what to do..if i knew it was going to grow out all the way i would just let it grow even though for about a year it will look so stupid... but it just wouldn't grow when i let it stay... what should I do???
Thanks for any help. Samantha

As far as bangs go, I don't know.... I like my hair the way it is.. the question is...what if the hair won't grow any further than the length it was? I let it sit for quite a while and it didn't get any longer which makes no sense I thought hair was growing almost all the time. Or do you mean take what hair i have and turn it into bangs? I have no clue how bangs work..anyhow... anyone else have any suggestions? And I really want to know WHY i suddenly got this new hair in the past few years..it looks just like my normal hair, i don't get it...
Hi...I am really stumped on this one....I guess if it doesn't grow and you are absolutely sure of it, then you should do what the poster above suggested. Did you ever try gelling it back into your own style?
Bangs would be a great way to camoflage while it is growing out - you would take the hair above the hairline and cut it into thick fringe that would hang over the forehead....kind of like liv Tylers.
Good Luck

Please don't stress yourself you look gorgeous personally I would simply get it waxed off & use a hair retarding lotion .I would not grow a fringe as it's too low on your forehead.
