I am new to this forum but thought i would give it a go as I am after some advice and really appreciate any opinions from professionals etc!
It's a bit of a long story but about 4 months ago I had a bit of a hair 'disaster'! (well a disaster for me anyway, i am naturally a dark blond and have only ever had highlights put through my hair).
At my appt with my regular hairdresser (who might i add had far too many clients happening at one time every time i went and had a made a few mistakes on my hair from time to time) - i went for regular highlights and a cut and she started 'painting' my hair with colour - me being very uneducated when it comes to hair colour didn;t think much of it and it wasn't until after it came off i could have cried - well i did cry, lots!!! It was not what i wanted and completely different from my regular highlights (an orangy colour). She knew i was upset but said it would 'settle down'. I went back later and she pretty much refused to do anything about it and left me very embarrased and upset.
I went to see another salon and over the past 3 months she has been slowly getting my hair back to how it once was. Hard for her i know considering she is working on someone else's mistake! Anyway, I have a question - I had highlights a few days ago and i noticed she used bleach based foils which I am not sure the old hairdresser used to use (I might be wrong??) - would she need to use bleach considering that my hair has been previously permanently coloured? My hair is now possibly a shade or so lighter that what I once was but I am guessing that she is trying her hardest to get it back to 'normal'. Its just that my hair feels so dry and damaged. Do you think this would be from having bleach based highlights or from all the mistakes that have been made?
Any advice is SO appreciated!!!!!!

You could try Color Fix to remove the new color and leave you just with your old highlights. I just used it to remove some semi permanent dark color that was over a light brown permanent base color (my hair is naturally dark brown). This product is good, if It wasn't for my grays showing, I would not have had to recolor.
It's pretty gentle considering I used it twice and it did not dry my hair. If you don't want to keep going to the salon to correct the color, its worth a shot IMO.......
