    Posted: December 29 2010 at 4:35pm
Hello!
About two months ago, I went to a salon and had semi-permanent auburn put in my hair. My hair was back to what it usually looks naturally in about a month, except it still had a reddish tint in the sunlight. Its been two months since then, and i really wanted the reddish tint out, plus I wanted to go a shade or two darker.

Last night, I put semi-permanent hair color in myself. It was suppossed to come out a few shades darker brown, but it came out almost black and looks reddish in the sun- thats what i was trying to get rid of in the first place! I washed my hair once already and its faded a bit, but I still dislike it, especially the reddish tint. I figured Id wash it everyday ( i normally dont) until it fades to the brown i wanted. Will the red go away quicker than the brown itself (considering it wasnt even suppossed to have red in it)?

The box says it lasts for 28 washes, but since I went from a light brown to this really dark color, will it last longer than that?

Thanks!

No red is the fastest to fade and the hardest to remove. Becasue you started with a red tint in your base color, thats why it shows more red. Black is made up of red blue and purple. It pulls that color more.
You may want to look into a Semi/demi color remover. These can be found at Walgreen, Walmart ,cvs and especially Sally's beauty Supplies

I would advise stop washing it everyday and  try the remover. The more you wash the hard it may be to remove the color.
