How long should you wait to dye hair again?

Hello, I'm sixteen years old and I've had a bad exprenice with hair dye. For about two years I bleached my hair blonde. It almost looked white. Well, it was fine for the first year, but then after that I realized each time I bleached it; i would lose a lot more hair. Well, I decided not to bleach it anymore and I dyed it a dark red. I did not like it so I put hot pink temporary dye in it. It was really pink! After that I dyed it turquoise. My hair seemed to be doing fine so I decided to bleach it again. What a mistake. I had a Wal-Mart bag full of my hair so the only thing I could do was get it cut. It was really short and I hated it. So after all that happened I completely stopped dyeing my hair for about eight or nine months. My hair was as healthy as could be. So Christmas eve I decided to dye my hair red, and I'm wondering when the next time would be good to dye it again so nothing would happen like it did before. Please help? Thanks(:
