Help using Matrix SoColor to go bright red

   My mom works in a salon and gets me Matrix SoColor at her cost. I haven't used it in awhile, I was growing it out and then recently got a demi-color in a salon. I am a natural level 6 medium brown, and have around that color (demi) on my hair. I want to try to go to something as close to Christina Hendricks color as I can without doing any double processing. I'm wondering what I should use. If I am a level 6, and I want to go to a level 7, should I use a level 8 with a 20 volume? If so, would I be best using 8 RC-medium blonde red copper, or 8 RB-medium red blonde? I don't want to end up orange. Help!!
