dark brownish red to gray

I have naturally auburn hair and have been dying it for years to cover my many grays. Early last year I dyed it black and have been highlighting and fading it for over 9 months, now I have decided to give it all up and go gray.
I have started the stripping process. Today I am going into round 3, which hopefully will be the last. So far, after two strips, I am at the mostly orange with bright gold blond streaks and some remaining light/medium brown streaks.
After the stripping today I intended to use a dark ash blond with %20 developer and a silver protein filler.
Do you think that will be enough to lighten it to a shade where my natural gray can start growing free?

I have also purchased a few different colors of gray and ash coloring for future touchups or highlights.
