Alright guys,

my hair is a natural light reddish brown. I had dyed it a dark brown, it was almost black. I then stripped my hair about a month and a half ago, and then I put on the lightest orange based red I could find, using a 40 volume developer. Well, it is kind of like a darker red in the house, but out in the sun I suppose its like a medium copper red. My goal is to either get it to a light copper red or a light copper blonde. Please help. I will take any suggestions at this point.

You'll have to lighten the hair again with bleach, how is the condition?

For copper red or copper blonde you need to bleach the hair to gold (the stage between orange and yellow) or yellow, the apply a toner

Now do I need to strip my hair before I bleach it? And it is in excellent condition, I deep condition it every week. Also, do you have any recommendations for how long to leave the bleach on, or any specific kind of toner? I am somewhat new to the bleaching process, lol.

Yes use a stripper first if you're lucky it may become orange
The only way to know if the hair is light enough is to make strand test wiping some of the hair off with a piece of paper during processing, and remember to apply bleach back on the strands, use a demi permanent toner it's much more gentle on bleached hair
