Hello!  I asked my colorist to change my color from the a level 4 dark brown with golden blonde highlights, to a level 6 red shade.  I brought in a picture depicting the color I wanted, inquired if it was possible to achieve and was told yes.  Just some backgound on my hair --- my natural hair color is dark brown and I'm approxiamtely 75% gray.  I walked out of the salon with what I thought was a lovely color that was almost identical to the photograph I showed her.  When I got home, however, and looked at myself in my very brightly lit bathroom mirror, I noticed that my roots were lighter than the ends and some of my grays were still showing.  I called my colorist the next day and went back to have it fixed.  The roots are now slightly darker than the ends (but not terribly so), but the bigger issue now is that my hair has oxidized to a bronzy & dull reddish brown shade in literally the one washing my hair sustained at the salon.  The previously highlighted parts of the hair are now peeking thorough (which I know is to be expected), but they're an unflattering orangey/copper tone.  It's just a completely unflattering shade for my fair complexion.   Not to mention that the color is now nothing like the one I wanted.  She knew that I was upset before I even said a word, and then went on to say how reds are the hardest color to stay true and oxidize very quickly.  But in one wash??  I am so unhappy with the way my hair looks now.  I've been going to this colorist for  many years and never had a problem until now.  I look in the mirror and am so utterly depressed with what I see!  I'm wondering if there is anything I can do at home to fix this....  Any suggestions that you may have is welcomed and greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

I think that you should go back and demand that another colorists fix your hair color, since the old one obviously is incompetent
