Ok i have extremely poofy hair and its thick. And because of this, i can only dream of having straight hair, but there is one way i can make it look halfway decent (not so friggin poofy) but its not very sanitary. Like if im sick or something, or its like a weekend and i have nothing to do, if i dont wash my hair a few days, the oil actually keeps the hair down and make it look alot better. I was wondering if i could do this some other, more clean way??

Thanks in advance, and btw....HI!! :D

oh and btw, my experience with mousee is, it has to dry before i can even move, and i cant blow dry it cuz the hair goes everywhere. Also if any wind gets to it, it all separates and it gets poofy like i never put mousee in the first place. (this is my experience from putting mousee in wet hair)

And with any hair gel, it leaves white dandruff looking stuff if wind gets to it and blows it around (which also causes it to go all poofy)

And hair spray basically just doesnt work, and it leaves my hair where u cant run a finger thru it or ull pull my scalp off lol

When I want my hair to have enough oil to stay shiny, but not wait it out to get nasty, then I put my own clean oil-- just a few drops of coconut or jojoba oil. That way I don't get the sweat the the nasty scalp smell along with the shine. Have you tried this?

i never tried it, but my g/f kinda has a thing for running her fingers through my hair and i dont think she'd like it like that lol.

But about this oil, jsut a few drops?? Then do i just massage it everywhere?? Or a certain spot?? Or what??

Also just curious, is there anything else you can think of, just in case the oil thing doesnt work????

It won't make your hair feel greasy to your girlfriend if you don't use too much. First try with one drop of oil, (jojoba or coconut oil) and if you need more, try with two. If it winds up feeling or looking greasy, you used too much. Your hair should just feel softer, and it will weigh your hair down.

Wash your hair, let it dry or dry it your usual way. Rub a small amount on your fingers, then rub it through your hair, staying away from the scalp. Then brush your hair to evenly spread the oil, trying not to brush it onto the scalp. (It won't hurt your scalp, it's just more likely to make your hair look dirty if you use too much and get it on your scalp).

If not washing your hair works well for you, oiling it like this will probably be just what you need to fix your problem.

Is that your hair Anais? I didn't even recognize you. I didn't look straight at the avatar so I thought it was a cat. Then I looked at it and noticed it was hair and you.

If I want to buy mine local, I have to get it at the whole foods/organic store. You might also try the GNC store. If you don't have that near you, you can buy it online at similar stores.

Try using a good coconut oil, that is virgin coconut oil.
It will surely last a long time if you buy a pint or quart.
I have heard others say it makes hair greasy.

But I must admit afew drops sounds perfect.
Do it before you wash your hair and if you do not like it, use something lighter.

What about leaving some conditioner in ones hair?
I think that might be ok also.

well for some people, their hair feels better if they washed only like 3 times a week. Their natural oils makes their hair better.

I kno 4 my hair using a good salon conditioner in the shower and leaving it in 4 a couple minutes. Then when i get out i put in a leave in spray conditioner. Not alot though it will get greasy but it really works. I'm a girl and i have long thick hair that i can now blowdry becasue of my conditioners, good luck!
