Hi all,

I'm new, but I really wanted some internet opinions about getting my hair cut. I have super thick, fairly long dark blonde hair. But, I feel like I'm getting older and the wavy/beachy/blonde hair look is getting old.

What do you think? I really want to get long, messy bob ala Brooklyn Decker. I'd be willing to go shorter too.

I want something pretty different. I've tried bangs, but they don't look so great on me. I dye my hair (not sure what my natural color is? light brown?) so, I'm definitely up to change the color.

Thanks!

From your pic, I would suggest a sleek inverted chin length bob.  Shorter in the back with it angled along your chin line.  My two cents worth.

Might be a little shorter in some areas than you were talking about but what about this? I think it's a great cut. It looks really good and is different from what I see most people with and I think you could pull it off too (maybe with a few minor changes if necessary)

Hopefully that works right... I've never tried to put a video in here before

I think a combo of the Brooklyn Decker cut and what loveshorthair suggests. Angle Brooklyn's messy bob up in the back.

Thanks for the help! I'm thinking of finding a place over Thanksgiving. What about switching up the hair color?

I love a reddish brown color...but that is my preference.  Think it would look good on you though.  Are you sure you don't want to consider bangs?

No in-between here.  Either a very light blond or a deep auburn.  Both with look great with your eyes.

No bangs for me. Just finished growing some out and it's not a process I want to do again any time soon. I've always been afraid of any red tones in my hair, but maybe it's worth a try.

Texture!!! Not just a simple bob... Unless that is just a start... bob it... but break it up so you have some movement and activation... Just hang-y hair is just hang-y.  Avoid the longer in the front/stacked back look... soooo last year.

thanks guys! I'm thinking starting with a long-ish bob and then seeing if I want to bring it a little shorter. While I really want Betty Draper's hair, I need to accept I don't have the patience (or the stylist), so I need something easier. I think Brooklyn Decker's cut, keeping the same color, will work. Planning to go after Thanksgiving when I finally have some time off.

Thanks all, this forum is great.
