What color does my hair look?

I have been dying my hair since I was a sophomore in high school and I am now 21 years old. Some days I really miss having my "natural color" after having dyed my hair several different colors. Although I have pictures of me when I was a child, I can't tell what exact color my hair used to be. I cropped a picture so you could all see what my hair color used to look like as a child: 
My hair color now is a dark ash brown that everyone thinks looks black. My problem has always been choosing hair colors that people think don't suite my skin tone. I'm either too light (like when I dyed my hair blonde), or I'm too dark (like when I dyed my hair dark brown or black). Now all I want is to have my natural hair color back so I can stop dying my hair and let it do it's thing.
