I need to know how to hide an undercut!

Hello ! I'm thinking of getting an undercut. What I want would look similar to this: http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2011/298/2/9/witches_gaze_by_xylidin-d4dxwp3.jpg

If I were to get this hairstyle I'd need to know how to hide it for work and certain occasions.

Any ideas?
Could I just part my hair in the middle or opposite side? Or would I need hair extensions..?

I did something similar a while ago and it was pretty easy to hide by using a side part on the other side so you have more hair falling into this side.
However, it was a huge pain in the butt to grow back - I had to buy a lot of gel at first to slick it back so it wouldn't poke through my hair when it was growing out.
