Help I need some advise on what to do with my hair

Hi I am new to your websit and have been reading up on all the information and advise that you give out and really need some advise of me own. 
I bought a all over head Born Blonde Maxi and it said on the box that it would lighten dark hair to blonde and my natural color is med. brown so I figured it would do for me.

Boy was I dead wrong. I had previouis high lights already and the color on then was fine but my roots and everything else is like a orangey or brassy color. I have a picture that I will try and download. I could not download picture.

So I went to Sally and they advised me to get Wella Color Charm 12C Ultra Light Blonde and I just put that on and left it for 45 minutes and it does not look like it did much of anything at all. I also bought the color corrector in the little packet purple color and added that to the color too. Should I of gottent the red packet in lieu of the purple packet? It may of taken some of the orange out but not much of it. Thank god I bought some conditioner and used that to help on condt of my hair.

If anyone can help me and tell me what I can do to get rid of the brassiness and the orangey yellowis tone I would appreciate it.
