You need to stop washing your hair in this water. You can either put in a whole-house treatment system to remove the iron, a small one at your tap, or buy water to wash your hair in.

Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

Try washing your hair with clarifying shampoo in addition to changing your water. Buy some jugs of filtered water at Wal-Mart.

In addition to not washing your hair with it, I wouldn't drink it either. You can treat it like mentioned above, or buy water at the store, but high levels of iron like that are not good for you (especially if you have any tendency towards hemochromatosis).

LOL....I do have a treatment system. A water softener. It ran out of salt and I wasnt aware of it. My boyfriend was aware of it but "forgot about it" for about a week!

Problem solved as far as the water treatment....silly boyfriend dont forget the salt! Just getting the rusty tinge outta my blonde hair is the problem! Ive used malibu treatments in the past for a slight yellowey/orangy color but this is worse than that. Was hoping for a miracle treatment that isnt harsh or damaging. Im heading for the beauty supply store here in a few minutes to find something!
