My hubby has always been a long-time fan of longer hair.  And when we met, I had hair that was mid-way down my back.
 
But over the years, I have went shorter -- always somewhere between above the shoulders but below the chin.  But I am now going to let it grow for awhile.  This will be a challenge for me, as it's been a long time since I have had "long" hair.  I know it is something he will like, and it will be a change for me to have longer hair again.  I had been wanting to go shorter, but I am going to *try* to grow it out for him.  :) 
 
I have some layers that I will also let grow out a bit, but I am thinking I will try to let it grow about 8+ inches longer than where it is now.
 
So, we shall see how this goes.  I always get the "itch" to cut my hair, so this will definitely take some real patience on my part.

Still on the grow...
I had it colored yesterday, and my stylist commented that it was really starting to get "long."  Mind you it's not actually long compared to others, but it has grown out a bit for ME.  And I can finally see a noticeable difference in length from pics taken of me earlier in 2012 compared to now.

I'm always happy when I hear a lady say she wants to grow her hair long...Smile
Get yourself some pretty new hair accessories.  Pretty new barettes, maybe a nice head band or even some ponytail holders.  It will give you something to look forward to when you get that "itch" to cut your hair.  If you can just ride out that urge cut it you will be ok.  Good luck !
