QuoteReplyTopic: Growing Healthy Hair? Posted: July 13 2003 at 6:20pm
I don't know if this question has been asked before, but I'm growing my hair out after bleaching it and I want to know what I can do to make sure it grows in as healthy as possible. I started taking a multivitamin every day along with MSM,which I heard helps it to grow in stronger and more resilient. Anyone have any other ideas?

This is just a platitude, of course, but using hair dryers, curling irons, and other heating devices is best kept to a minimum.
The ends of the hair are the oldest and most vulnerable to breakage and splitting, so even if your scalp is oily, it's a good idea to constantly condition the ends of the hair.
When the hair is wet, it's best to blot it dry gently instead of vigorously rubbing back and forth (I've seen so many stylists in salon do this, though). And since hair is most vulnerable when it's wet, I think it's important to treat it extra gently when in that condition.
And believe it or not, eating a healthy diet, exercising, and receiving proper sleep also affect hair growth.
