My natural hair color is a very dark ashy blonde and I currently have it colored a dark reddish brown. My stylist is going to do a treatment to get a lot of the dark color out before recoloring it lighter. So basically I want to get a coppery color all over color with blondish highlights. I'm sure she had an extreme pro stylist do her hair, but do you think this look is achievable?

Anything is achievable do you have a pic of your current color as well as your natural color (doesnt have to be you lol) Easier to tell what or how to do if we can see what were workin with. Very pretty goal color though love that red.

I am just wondering what the process is to get it the other color as my stylist said it's a bit of work to lighten it. She has to do a "french shampoo"? I can't find what this is anywhere on the internet but it sounds like it's a bleach shampoo to lift the dark color. Then what happens? Does she tone it and then color it and then add highlights? The bleach shampoo sounds like it would be horrible for your hair.

Yeah your hair is pretty dark but that is a beautiful color. Your stylist is right I mean any time you go lighter its a bit of work. I still think a French shampoo is a bleach shampoo just named different to not scare you. A bleach shampoo isnt bad for your hair its just a bleach mix with shampoo so its not nearly as strong as just putting it on your hair and leaving it to pull color. This is actually very similar to stripping kits. She is going to have to get rid of the color you are not some how to lighten. Depending on how well the shampoo pulls your color out and how light it goes depends on if she would tone or not. Worst case she may do a lightener on your hair if it doesn't pull enough to make it to your goal color. Best case is you pull good then may or may not tone then goal color and BAMM your done. I personally love that dark color you have now and especially since its fall now darker colors look good during fall and winter imo. Not trying to talk you out of what you want just saying. =)
