The Curly Shag breaks all former thoughts about natural texture.
Yes...it is possible, with the right haircut to wear a curly shag hairstyle.
Don't be fooled though by Rihanna. She actually wears a lot of wigs and while she has natural texture, she often wears extensions as well.
With natural curls, the curly shag has to be about controlled chaos.
Some experts believe the best cutting tool for a curly shag is a razor. But is it? For some it may work to create that piecy shag look, but long term it may not be right for some types of texture since it may cause damage.
Razors can shred hair and cause explosive frizz. Only agree to a razor cut on your natural texture if you've had it before and it was OK or you know your stylist can really make it work for your hair type and texture.
People with coarse or rough textures which natural curls, waves and/or kinks should not try a razor cut.
If you do try the shag, go to a curl expert for the basic cut and use a serum and/or pomade when hair is damp. Allow hair to dry naturally and don't touch it?
Have you ever had your hair cut with a razor? Was it heaven or hell? What do you think? Can a curly shag work for this type of hair?
